When Ben and Ashlea agreed to have me photograph their wedding in California, La Jolla, I was over the moon to say the least. A little nervous of the flight and having jet lag while shooting someones wedding, but more excited as it was going to be my first major international wedding.
Ben & Ashlea’s wedding was run a little bit different to what im used to in Australia, so it was a bit of a learning curve for me. With only having 30 minutes to capture the more personal intimate photos of them, I realized that I needed to change the focus of what the day is about. Yes it needed to be about them as a new couple but more about them celebrating it with their family and friends who traveled quite long distances to get there. As a photographer I always want the best for each client and I know what photos people are going to be drawn towards and going to love the most. Most of the time its the arty minimalistic photos that people love the most. But with Ben & Ashlea’s wedding I felt it needed to be more than that. It needed to show the emotions of their love for one another but also the love their family and friends have for them.
Hope you enjoy their wedding just as much as I enjoyed being their and celebrating their day with them.
Congratulations Ben & Ashlea
Matt & Kim’s Wedding at Earlsferry House
Ceremony & Reception: Earlsferry House

When I started photography I always told myself to never just stick to one style and to always expand my craft into different areas. If you didnt know I also do a bit of real estate and interior photography on the side as its a great way to just zone out and just shoot something for what it is. So when Matt Di Costa from last years The Block – Sky High asked me to come in and take photos of his latest project he just finished working on I was very excited to see his outcome. Enjoy
